Sickness

Well, I am sick once again....seems like a never ending thing in the Back household sometimes. Blaine got it first and passed it on to me.....just hoping Bryleigh doesn't get it. Sore throat, achy body, and cold symptoms are no fun. I guess the bright side is I'm not vomiting!

Blaine has 6 weeks left now until he graduates.....so very exciting! To me, 6 weeks is nothing, but I think to Blaine, it still seems like an eternity.

Not too much new going on with us. Bryleigh is talking a lot now, saying short sentences and she has started using her potty very consistently. I'd say she goes pee pee about 5 times a day in the potty, but she still doesn't want to go poo poo in it! :(

She spelled the word "happy" last week and shocked us! We finally realized she learned it at daycare from a song that spells it aloud. She heard Blaine use the word and immediately spelled it! It was really cool! We are so proud of Bryleigh and how well she is doing!

Well, LOST will be coming on soon and its a new episode so I need to prepare! haha

Good night!

2 1/2 more months!

It's sad the last time I blogged was when Blaine had 6 more months till he graduates. Now, it's only 2.5 months! Very exciting! It's so hard to believe he is that close now!!

Not too much going on here besides working for us both, school for Blaine, and playing with Bryleigh. She is talking like a wild woman now...saying the cutest things and repeating pretty much everything. She is still obsessed with Elmo. We've decided to have an Elmo theme for her 2nd birthday which is still 4 months away. She can spot Elmo a mile away. We will be shopping and from far far away she will yell out, "Elmo!" At first we thought she was just thinking about Elmo but we soon came to realize she was actually seeing him somewhere in the store. So now when she yells his name out we have to find out where she actually sees him because he is somewhere, sometimes in the weirdest places....no idea how she even sees him sometimes.

Ok, enough Elmo......hey, at least I blogged! :)

6 more months till freedom

Blaine now has 6 months left until he gradutes from UF. I can't be happier!! He is so bogged down to school, its driving us both crazy I think. I just can't wait until the day where we both come home from work and can just sit and talk and play with Bryleigh together.

School is just so consuming for him. May can't come soon enough!!!

180 more days, but who's counting?? :)

My quirks

Ok so I'm taking this idea from Amanda's blog....I thought it was a neat idea.

-I can not stand cigarette smoke
-I rarely drink soda...maybe once a month if that
-Snakes scare me
-I love love love rollercoasters
-Abnormal psychology was probably my most favorite class in college (what does that say about me? :) )
-I slept with a yellow blanket through childhood and even through college!!!!! Blaine totally thinks I'm weird. :)
-I cry during Extreme Home Makeover --practically every episode
-I absolutely love sleeping in
-Natural childbirth is the only way I'd bring a child into this world :)
-I love getting pedicures
-I could care less what kind of shampoo I use
-I took 4 years of Latin in High School and was the Latin student of the year my Senior year!
-I'm competitive at games
-I love finding good deals

Love that little voice

Bryleigh has been really picking up words the past few weeks. It's so much fun to see and hear! Today she has started saying, "please" when she wants something. We still have to prompt her but it's SO cute to hear! She will sign the word "more" and "please" and then say "please." Absolutely adorable! We ran to Waterford to Old Navy tonight and I said, "Bryleigh we're going shopping!" All of the sudden she kept repeating, "shop shop shop." Then we went into Target and she said it again and again.

It's always funny how the first time your child does something its so surprising. You're not really expecting it to happen and when it does it catches you by surprise. That happened numerous times this weekend when she'll say a word and I wasn't expecting her to say it.

I can't encourage parents enough to READ to their children. It has such a profound impact on their language skills. Bryleigh never gets tired of books. She can sit for so long and will make up her own stories to them. I don't think that's just something babies will do...I honestly think it's because I started reading to her when she was just days/weeks old. A research study recently came out saying that children who were read to and spoken to often came to school knowing "THOUSANDS" more words than their peers who were not read to or spoken with very often. That's a HUGE difference. Not just hundreds, but thousands more words....incredible.

Anyway, Blaine and I are thrilled that Bry is picking up language more each day. We are truly blessed and thank God all the time for her precious life He has entrusted to us.

Good night!
